Big Ideas
This design project aims to use technology Frame VR to design an interactive virtual field trip. As a result, students will build an experiential connection to the subject matter through interaction and collaboration within a virtual world.

Technology Basics
- WebXR is a group of standards used together to support rendering 3D scenes to hardware designed for presenting virtual worlds (virtual reality, or VR) (Mozilla 2021).
- Frame VR is a platform based on WebXR. It's a tool for creating an online virtual meeting place where users can learn and interact with one another using a computer or smart device.
- In this project, the designed environment will involve a series of "Frames" hosted on Frame VR. In these online spaces, visitors can customize their avatars, move around freely as the avatars, interact with assets, and talk to each other. The virtual field trip experience is provided by travelling in and between these Frames.
- Within each Frame, various assets (artifacts) will be placed, each with a particular purpose relating to either:
- familiarizing a new user with the virtual space and controls,
- hosting or participating in a virtual field trip, or
- providing feedback to the designer/instructor about the activities
- The assets could be 2D-images, 3D-models, photospheres, multi-page-PDFs, 2D-videos, 3D-videos, audio files, interactive whiteboards, or links to other websites (including other Frames)
- The created Frame is accessible from a browser on any smart device, such as desktop, mobile device, and VR. Expensive headsets or installed plugin programs are not required.
- The following text-to-speech pugin can be installed on Google Chrome browsers for accessibility support:
